Water Damage Restoration in Buckhannon & Central West Virginia
Water damage rarely waits for a convenient time. A failed water heater, an overflowing washer, a leaking roof or a creek that comes up overnight can leave you with soaked floors, wet drywall and a lot of questions. Red Ridge Contracting is a local, WV-licensed (License #WV064509), IICRC-certified team that handles the whole job: water removal, drying, cleanup and the repairs that put your home or business back together.
Water coming in right now? Call us 24/7 at (304) 439-6619.
What We Handle
- Water extraction and removal: pumping standing water and pulling moisture out of carpet, pads and flooring.
- Structural drying: setting up drying equipment and checking moisture levels until materials are actually dry, not just dry to the touch.
- Removal of damaged materials: cutting out wet drywall, insulation, flooring or cabinets that can’t be saved.
- Cleanup and sanitizing: especially important after floodwater or sewage backups.
- Repairs and rebuild: drywall, flooring, trim, cabinets and paint. Because we’re also a general contractor, the same crew that dries your home can rebuild it.
Water damage can come from many places: burst or frozen pipes, appliance leaks, roof leaks after a storm, basement seepage, or rising water during a flood. If water has been sitting for a while, we’ll also check for signs of mold.
Need the house put back together after the drying? See our water damage repair and rebuild page. We dry it out and we put it back.
Our Process
- Call and free inspection. Tell us what happened. We’ll come out, look at the damage, find the source and explain what we see. Inspections are free.
- Stop the water and document everything. We help stop the source and take photos and moisture readings that are useful for your insurance claim.
- Extract and dry. We remove standing water, set up drying equipment and monitor progress.
- Remove and clean. Materials that can’t be dried are removed, and affected areas are cleaned.
- Rebuild. We repair or replace what was lost, so you aren’t hunting for a second contractor.

Working With Your Insurance
Most water damage jobs involve an insurance claim, and that part can feel overwhelming. We work with any and all insurance companies. We document the damage with photos and moisture readings, explain the scope of work in plain language, and meet with your adjuster when needed. Read more about how we help on our insurance claim repairs page.
Keep in mind that standard homeowners policies and flood insurance often treat water differently. A burst pipe and rising floodwater may be covered under different policies. Your agent or insurer can explain your specific coverage.
Not every job goes through insurance. For out-of-pocket repairs, financing is available through Acorn Finance.
What to Do Before We Arrive
- Shut off the water at the main valve if you can do so safely.
- Turn off electricity to wet areas only if it’s safe to reach the panel. Never stand in water to do it.
- Move valuables, photos and documents to a dry place.
- Take photos and video of the damage for your claim.
- Avoid using household vacuums on standing water.

Frequently Asked Questions
How soon should water damage be dried out?
As soon as possible. The longer water sits, the more it soaks into drywall, wood and flooring, and the more likely mold becomes. Call as early as you can so drying can begin.
Will my insurance cover water damage?
It depends on your policy and the cause. Sudden events such as a burst pipe are often treated differently than flooding or long-term leaks. We work with any and all insurance companies and can provide documentation to support your claim.
Do I need to be home during drying?
Not always. Many homeowners stay in the home while drying is in progress. We’ll talk through what makes sense for your situation.
Can you repair the damage too, or just clean it up?
Both. Red Ridge is a licensed general contractor, so we handle the cleanup and the rebuild, including drywall, flooring, cabinets and paint.
Is the inspection really free?
Yes. We’ll look at the damage and explain what we find at no cost.
What areas do you serve?
Upshur, Lewis, Randolph, Barbour and Harrison Counties, including Buckhannon, Weston, Elkins, Philippi, Clarksburg and Bridgeport.
